During the hundred years war (That ended close to Puyfromage in the town of Castillon la Bataille in 1453), the British troops stationed in the plains, undertook their operations based on the signals emitted “on the side of the plateau”.
The expression « from edge » used to designate this place (where the château Puy Fromage now lays) was translated over time to become “fromage”.
